The Mixed Pinehurst Tournament Report from Sunday 22 July at 13th Beach, on the Creek course.
Who would have thought after a shocking week of wind rain and I’m sure it snowed somewhere close, we were graced with a lovely winters day at 13th Beach for the Mixed Pinehurst Tournament.
For the second year we welcomed a fabulous field to compete this friendly fun competition.
Congratulations to all who entered, arriving early making the registration desk stress free, my thanks to Greg Bishop for his help there.
So out to the tees we all went hopeful of a good result, sadly we all could not produce the goods like the pairs collecting the trophies. Well done to those of you who played some superb golf out there. The scores were sensational. Full results are here to see, included in those results are the ones who will hope for better next year.
Many thanks to the golf Ops girls who convened after their rounds to tally up, award prizes and once again amaze with their prowess at finalising at the pointy end of the day. Thanks Maz, Lynne and Jay, great job.
13th Beach, lovely as ever and a joy to play on. Billy, Nathan, Pro Shop staff and hospitality staff always aim to please, once again they delivered. As usual the wind turned a bit nasty and cold in the last few holes, but hey, it is winter and we got through most holes in perfect weather.
So done and dusted for another year, some of us a happy, some not so. Remember the saying when playing this game, some refer to it as Pinehurst Divorcesomes, I mean Foursomes – how did you and yours fare?
Till next year, thanks for coming,
Sue – Tournament Secretary.
Oops – totally forgot to snap some photos – if you can send me a pic and it will be posted.
Also, a poor lost Callaway XR Wood cover – its pining here waiting to be picked up, call me on 0407840870 and we can arrange its return.
