SWGA Womens Irish FourBall Stableford – Report

SWGA Womens Irish FourBall Stableford – Report

Did we really play golf in that wind?

Anticipation was high for the annual opening event, the SWGA Irish fourball – 4 friends beginning the year of golf with high hopes.
Today………gale force winds and drizzly rain, not exactly fitting for a fine Feb day.
Kudos to the entrants as not one of these women didn’t turn up or finish their round !
Back to the game, and some players seemed to handle the north or south or was it westerly or maybe easterly, it was everyyyyywhere.
Right about now I should congratulate our winners, Winchelsea’s, Anne Davis, Liz Alston, Sue Cuthbert and Carol Stanesby shooting a wind-free 115 points. Prizes went down to 5th place, plus 4 NTPs, check the winners list HERE
A big shout out to the staff at Curlewis, Elijah and Heather in the pro shop, couldn’t have done any more, so many thanks for everything .
Hospitality staff were spot on too, food all day, freshly made rolls and wraps, yum.
Serious stuff now, Women’s Golf Ops, the hardest working crew, were covering all bases today as usual, well done girls.
And then there is Mac, website wiz presenting the results for us all to see, love your work.
So, thanks for playing, enjoy 2020 golf, and make the wind go away please.
Suehx
Tournament Secretary.
