2024 RESULTS - Geelong wins Men’s Division 2 Pennant.

In a rapid climb up the ladder, Geelong now finds them in Division 1 next year, winning a good duel over Portarlington 5.5 to 1.5. A great result by a young team on the rise and the win is certainly recognition to 8 years of a huge effort by the club coaches and administration. Special mention to Portarlington’s David Walker who recorded a Hole in one on Par 3 -14th .

QUEENSCLIFF TAKE HONOURS IN DIVISION 4

2024 RESULTS - It was D day for Ocean Grove & Queenscliff in Division 4. All players were very excited to be in the mix at the pointy end of the season. An excellent Golf Course & unfriendly weather, was no deterrent for the Swan Island team who took advantage of playing on their home course.  2 matches headed down the 19th but were not enough to get Ocean Grove across the line.  Queenscliff won the day 4 ½ to 2 1/2, both teams were well supported by their fellow members.

Division 5

2024 RESULTS - A strong Geelong Team, the season ladder leaders won convincingly over The Sands 5 -2.The individual scores did not reflect the skills displayed in each match's determination to win. Two convincing wins by Simon Murray and Wayde Howard set the tone for the day.

Geelong have a strong pennant squad which was evident on the day.  Congratulations to the team of Simon Murray, Miro Stosic, Matt Dawson, Zachary Boothroyd, James Harry & Wayde Howard.

Great to see 3 juniors representing their clubs playing senior pennant which gives SWGA so much encouragement that  golf is in good hands in the District.

Thanks goes to Greg Gebhart Captain Lara golf Club for the hard work he and his volunteers put into making a successful pennant final.

2024 RESULTS - Clifton Springs v Queenscliff was a close contest going down to the wire with Queenscliff coming home with a 3.5-1.5 win. Clifton Springs top of ladder end of season had a big spectator support and although well presented in great uniforms, showed their disappointment at the end. But a strong win by Harry Pecan will give Clifton Springs some determination to win in 2025.

Congratulations to the team of Paul O'Donoghue, Brian Shiell, Anthony Webber, Warren Fenton & Martin Christensen.

2024 RESULTS - Bannockburn v Queens Park. No toss of the coin as top of the ladder Bannockburn were given choice of tee start. The match became one sided reasonably early but the gutsy play by Queens Park never waned and although they lost 4-1,  Queens Park were proud of their game play.  A very well-seasoned and experienced team from Bannockburn with many years of pennant behind them shone through. Congratulations to their team :  Henk Kersten, Max McLaren, Ma Pfarrer, Aubrey Joyce, & Colin Gillet.
