SWGA Women’s Foursomes Championships

SWGA Women’s Foursomes Championships held at Portarlington Golf Club Monday 16th September 2024.
A blue ribbon event on the SWGA Women’s golfing schedule where the Mandy Buckley Salver was the main event.
In very spring conditions, rain gear on, rain gear off, Portarlington Golf Course was very well presented with the flag position board noting the flags would be in RANDOM positions. Good call!
72 players from 16 clubs battled the elements, the testing golfing format & the tricky course layout.
Thank you to Portarlington Golf Club’s, Course, administration, hospitality & golf shop staff for hosting this event that was at the least an enjoyable golfing challenge.

The Country Teams women’s squad was announced & presented with their uniforms. The team will play on Monday 30th Sept at Clifton Springs GC & Tuesday 1st Oct at Curlewis GC.
The Mandy Buckley Salver heads back to Torquay again this year with winners, Wendy Lawson & Kathy Naoumidis taking out the coveted trophy. The Handicap Salver, with a great score in the tricky conditions went to the Clifton Springs pair of Fiona Rogers and Colleen Manson.
